Chelsea Embankment was completed in 1874 to a design by Joseph Bazalgette, and was part of the Metropolitan Board of Works’ grand scheme to provide London with a modern sewage system and a transport route from land reclaimed from the River Thames. Albert Bridge was built around the same time to link the industrial town of Chelsea with the rich farming village of Battersea.
Albert Bridge and Chelsea Embankment provide a good range of subjects for you to photograph including River Views, statues, gardens residential properties and churches. Although you can visit this area at any time of day, it is not well served by public transport. I tend to hire a bike to get down to this part of London.
