12 Images of the Bloomsbury Area – Central London

Updated: Jun 10, 2020

Bloomsbury was, developed by the Russell family in the 17th and 18th centuries into a fashionable residential area. It is notable for its array of garden squares, literary connections (exemplified by the Bloomsbury Group) and many cultural, educational and healthcare institutions.

The principal photographic site in this area is the British Museum both externally and internally. However there is a wealth of other ares and sites nearby that are worth visiting including and old cemetery which is now a park, Russell Square and Hotel, famous London residential squares, statues, and places of learning.

The British Museum faces south so is in sun most of the day, however early morning will mean less crowds.
